SPOT 11: The Music Line Up Complete – and a Promising Seminar ProgrammeMay 4, 2005
Figurines: a new album, plenty of airplay - and
at SPOT 11

Now the complete programme for this year’s SPOT Festival is in place. The final five names can now be added to the impressive list bands - a total of 104 acts. The five ‘newcomers’ are Figurines, Moi Caprice, Utah, Lux Spencers, and Schack. The seminar programme of the Festival looks promising too – for instance Marstal’s Corner featuring intimate interviews with the people behind the music. This year with a.o. Allan Olsen in the hot seat.

A few words on the last five SPOT Bands: Figurines have a new album out, are popular with the critics – and no less so with the radio stations. Moi Caprice have also just released a new album. Lux Spencers and Schack have both been signed to the great new label Copenhagen Records, while Utah are going to play as part of a collective showcase “Trainspotting” organised by the booking company Skandinavian at the Aarhus venue Train.

Allan Olsen – in Marstal’s hot seat.

However, also when it comes to seminars, lectures, and panels at SPOT 11, there are plenty of goodies in the bag. For one thing, it is now official that the author and musician Henrik Marstal is going to follow up on last year’s great success with Marstal’s Corner, and interview a new bunch of famous Danish musicians about their life in and their attitude to the music. This years his guests will be the singer of dormant Love Shop, Jens Unmack, the significant castigator of the Danish society, Allan Olsen, the actor and not least musician Niels Skousen, and finally the critically acclaimed R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Karen. This part of the seminar programme takes place in AROS – Aarhus Art Museum, which is a new associate of the SPOT Festival.

The entire seminar and panel programme will be revealed soon, so keep an eye on www.rosa.org/v4/spot/spot2005
