More people joined though, when the relaxed, Norwegian girl went on stage, with her acoustic guitar and her small band consisting of an electric guitar-player and a pianist. Moreover, there were a tiny set of drums which was played by all musicians in the band during the concert. Unfortunately, a growing crowd naturally involved a lot of noise - it wouldn’t take long though, before most of the people luckily forgot their mouths in favour of their ears.
Intimacy was the key-word in this performance, when Ane Brun caught her audience with her simple, sometimes melancholy and country-inspired songs.
Ane Brun mostly played tunes from her resent record "A Temporary Drive"; the follow-up to her debut-album "Spending Time With Morgan" – both published at her own label DeErMineRecords. Intimacy was the key-word in this performance, when Ane Brun caught her audience with her simple, sometimes melancholy and country-inspired songs.
Meanwhile, an occasional grand wall of sound versus the discrete, musical foundation was made by the two co-musicians. Instruments like a miniature xylophone and even wineglasses were used, which after all added a certain, distinctive mark to some of the compositions.
Ane Brun’s music is not such as revolutionizing, but she is capable of getting herself near the audience with her realistic lyrics and tuneful songs. Besides, the Faroese singer/songwriter Teitur showed up to perform a simple duet, and it was actually very harmonic, while it gave the concert an extra, expressive kick. In all Ane Brun delivered an intense performance which confirms the increasing success and attention around her name. An artist, who should, and probably will have a larger influence on the Danish scene of music.
