Djosos Krost - SPOT 11, Officer

The Danish reggae/dub and dance hall scene is in its golden age. One of Denmark’s best kept secrets on the dub scene is Djosos Krost, who created Caribbean delights for your inner sub woofer when Officeren Stage was wrapped in a set piece of hypnotic dub.

On stage Djosos Krost were backed by a line up of Denmarks finer musicians as Muschinsky på keyboard, Adrian Wilding on sound effects and the reggae singers, Jah Bobby and Tucol, who changed dynamically between spoken word and soft vocals. Musically Djosos move in the border lands of heavy dub, space reggae, jungle and electronica.

The interesting line up of musicians had all the elements working for them and finally they had the whole audience wrapped in their hypnotic fog of beats to the smell of sweet tobacco. Djosos Krost is best described as a duo who tries to create an atmosphere, but this friday they showed, that their mellow attitudes and their laid back appeal is combined with a sense of tight structure in a line up of musicians, who managed to interpret many and clear ideas.

Review: 5 out of 6 stars
From: Copenhagen, Denmark
Signed to: VME
Genre and reputation: Dub/reggae/electronica. A duo occupied in other popular bands as well as they have produced albums for now succesful bands as B & B International. This spring brought Djosos Krost’s first album, "No Sign Of Bad", that was well received both by the national and the international critics.
