As good as it gets. Mikael Simpson was Friday night’s highest rated performer at this year’s Spot Festival. With his perfect musical balance between rock,pop and electronica he scored a full house.
Back in the nineties Simpson teamed up with singer Lise Westzynthius in the band Luksus which never quite made it to the top of the charts. Know it seems like Simpson has found his own path to walk with an almost perfect fusion of different genres.
What made this Friday night’s concert so special was Simpson’s way of communicating with the audience. We all felt him reaching out to every single one of us which made this experience so personal and touching. His music involves elements of different styles, e.g. disturbingly odd timing and powerful vocals. At the same time his singing is really strong and mixed with his heart-felt lyrics you’ll just have to pay attention to Mikael Simpson.

Genre and reputation: The back up musicians, Sølvstorm, means silver storm and Simpson is known for transforming his minimalistic albums in to live silver storms. Some air play, many danish followers, many Danish critics award, a great show man.
