By Morten Riis, MyMusic.dk | Foto: Lars Dyrendom | | It was cozy company with the one man band "space-gun" (which is the translation of the danish band name, Rumpistol); maybe a little to cozy, because when Rumpistol transcends the cozy to the crazy, he is among the best on danish ground.
Jens Berents, the main man in “Rumpistol”, went on stage and gave a nice impression of what Nordic electronica is all about. The crowded music hall, Voxhall, leaned back and enjoyed the minimalistic electronic
sounds, flowing from the stage. By using recordings of music boxes, vibraphones and saxophone. “Rumpistol” made a classic example of the delicate, Nordic tone. Accompanied by visual effects by Rene Hansen, which made the base for the changing beats of the concert.
Still, “Rumpistol” lacked that final touch, and gave an impression that, “Rumpistol”, have lot more to give the growd. This became evident in the last two tracks, where the tempo was accellerated and the manipulation of beats grew more furious. This is were Rumpistol is best.
