The Psyke Project - SPOT 11, Caféen

From the shadows of madness a wellcalculated thought emerges. A pitch-black daydream of murder, fire and glorified bestiality.

We assume that thoughts have no sound, but in the psyche cement floats, water burns, and thoughts have sound that reaches the powerless, before they see the living, hungry shadows fall upon them. The Psyke Project is pro tem. One of the most intense metal-bands in Denmark. However, it wasn’t painted pseudo-satanic men who entered the stage, but four shorthaired examples of the kid next door. An impression which only held water up to the point where they began to play, and the above-mentioned psyche opened the floodgates.

A malicious guide takes you on a hard-pumped tour that alternates between soothing, heavy-floating noise levels and cutting, rough yet complex patterns of pure aggression.

Unfortunately, the hand in the iron-glove wasn’t clenched hard enough to make way through speakers the size of a matchbox. It’s almost a disgrace that these unruly boys were to play such an interim stage, not to mention the fact that Hatesphere was scheduled to play at the same time, which caused a poor turnout. The feeling of a band with an immense amount of potential held in check by circumstances took some of the edge off the final general impression.

Review: 4 out of 6 stars (due to bad sound)
From: Denmark
Signed to: Cph. Sound
Genre & reputation: Metal/Crossover. Experienced live act. Solid support from their label, many danish supporters.
