Triåveriænne - SPOT 11, Filuren

This band name is hard to pronounce even for a Scandinavian from outside Norway where the band comes from. But just as I can keep coming up with suggestions on pronunciation of the name, the band could keep coming up with new things during their concert. A concert which was perfectly timed for this Saturday afternoon, and the audience just sat down on the floor and relaxed while listening to the very subdued character of the music, as well as the many moving expressions coming from their musical communication.

Triåverniænne plays jazz with quiet grooves and at times with high level climaxes. Their techniques were sublime, and the mix of back tracks and electronic elements put together with live synth, drums and trumpet made the concert very interesting. Thomas Finsrup who played keyboard and made programming delivered many elements which worked very well together with drummer Knut Finsrup’s style, and then again Gunnar Halle on trumpet accompanied the complete picture with his excellent and often simple way of being innovative on the trumpet. He sang through his trumpet and he even kissed it.

Review: 5 out of 6
